Some long-neglected characters from a few stories I need to actually draw!
I drew this for the “Friends Who Draw" blog! A blog that is updated weekly (that is, if people submit content weekly) with themed drawings. This month’s theme was "resolutions." Let’s see if I actually draw these, or any, comics, haha sob
I’m not sure if the screentone is working or not. I’m enjoying it, but it’s not my favorite.
Peer Pressure Comics! #5
You know this has happened to you. You know who you are.
Duck From Hell, Parts 1 and 2
OR: Why I don’t trust recipes
OR: How I found out my oven is VERY BROKEN
The good news: The skin was totaled (so sad!), but the meat was perfect. Not sure how that happened. Must have been the layer of insulating fat. Mmmm, duck fat. <3
But this comic is no exaggeration! All that super-heated duck fat burst into flames when I opened the oven door! Funny and terrifying!
For having missed making comics the last two weeks, I punished myself with
torture a perspective exercise.
Regardless, this is an accurate portrayal of the state of my apartment. Or it was, up until two days ago, when I was able to really start unpacking. But for a week after the move it was pretty much boxes everywhere, I was so busy with work and running vital errands (car oil changes, food, etc) that everything non-vital got neglected.
PEER PRESSURE COMICS!
Basically I was peer pressured into making comics. But between packing, looking for a place to live, and taking care of all other things (like life insurance!) before I move, I couldn’t even bring myself to care about this. Sorry folks,
I’ll try harder next week no I won’t.
Meanwhiles, take a look at Mr. Jake Wyatt’s beautiful comic, that he obviously cares very much about.
SOIL by Jon Cairns, Renee Keyes, Ray Bruwelheide
A delightful, thought provoking, short comic.
Check out the eye candy that’s going on over at “Beyond the Western Deep.”

Mael draws dumb comics about bees blog 2012.
I have no idea what kind of bumblebee this is, but it’s pretty cute with its red butt.
While I enjoyed the text book work… I’d so much rather be drawing comics! 8D
I got to do three short comics for the upcoming anthology “The Enchanted Toilet.”My friend Will Strong’s got two comics in there as well. Again, this was work for hire, so I don’t even own these characters anymore. Which is kinda a shame :’c
BUT I’M GETTING PUBLISHED OH MY GLOB
Plus! My editor was really great to work with! She really knew how to get my stories to come together, gave me great ideas, she was wonderful. She told me I could make potty jokes! How awesome is that?
No incentive to go down to the bookstore to
buy a copy read it in the store? Well how about this: I made an extremely subtle, very obtuse TF2 reference, and I named a character after Jnu. Because I could. HAH.
You can tell I hit my stride with Miss Muffet. Took me long enough. Also all that lettering was hand done. STUPIDEST IDEA. Next project will be to make my own font. Hand lettering. Never again.
Go read Chaos everyone!
Derrrr I’m behind in my comic journals >w<

I am. Such a NERD. But it’s stuff like this that make my job fun.
Spoilers: it’s a kind of exercise ball, but this was seriously the first thing I thought of.

I’VE BEEN SAYING “EBERHARDT” WRONG
And I can’t stand to be wrong >:c
This is like learning Pluto isn’t a “proper planet,” I CAN NEVER GO BACK, FOR SCIENCE, FOR TRUTH.
But “Aberhart” sounds funny to me :c I guess I’ll get used to it.
Why yes, I do read the Pronouncing Gazetteer for fun Y:
